Through funds raised, The Foundation for Farmworkers is able to direct desperately needed resources quickly to farmworker families in distress. Below are examples of families being helped through our efforts.
A young single mother and farmworker was recently made homeless when her father was detained by ICE. She received an emergency assistance grant to help her find new housing.
A single mother of two is currently experiencing great financial stress due to her declining health and inability to work. The family received financial assistance to pay her medical bills so that the mother can seek health care and return to work.
This single mother was among the first farmworkers to receive the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) relief. Through financial assistance and aid from immigration services, she was able to re-apply for DACA and has a more stable job with better pay.
The family of four were detained by ICE when they crossed into the US from Mexico. The family was without a home, transportation or household appliances, and the father was losing his vision due to unmanaged diabetes . Through financial assistance, the family will be able to purchase beds, winter clothes and a heater.
